There were numerous nursing programs that were introduced by the United States Health department soon after the year 2001 owing to grim situation of learned and equipped people in the profession of nursing.

Nursing is a profession which requires compassion and a good knowledge of the field. Though being a profession of compassion and care, there has always been a lack of enthusiasm and funding which could even help interested student to study.

There are three different types of nursing programs which are offered at different levels. There are undergraduate programs, graduate programs and special programs for nurse practitioners. Nurse practitioners are those people who already have been working in the medical profession.

Apart from the scholarship amount, students also get a stipend amount of $1500 and after the program is over the student will have to serve health institution for a period of two years as per the guidelines.

The nursing programs offered by organizations and nursing associations of the country take the present and future responsibility of the candidates funding of education and other costs of living. Most of these organizations are not driven by profit and are driven by the motivation for community service.

There are specialized nursing associations which provide training in oncology, ortho science and neuroscience. Today students have opportunities galore to choose from. Maryland's education commission and Indiana's student commission are among the famous state funded schools that offer various nursing programs. Both graduate and undergraduate candidates having a GPA of 3 or more can apply. Colleges and universities started offering nursing programs as an initiative of health and human service Department. Some of the most famous colleges are Milwaukee Area Technical college, North Carolina University and purse University's freshman scholarships.
